Fix seo rewrites on magento 2.4 apache

Magento is installed in subfolder wordpress in root magento throws 404s on all links unless index.php is injected into url works if seo-rewrites are disabled as magento now insists on /pub/ as root we cant find away to get seo rewrites to work. url is in form of
www.domain.com/ (wordpress)
